Yould 0.3.5

Yould 0.3.5 is out. It's the first release under GPLv3. The --list-sets option now works, you can apply a regexp to filter generated words and there is a new --version option.

The new regexp option is useful if you are looking for a word that include a specific sub-string. If you are looking for a name for a new cat website, you would do "yould -n 30 -R cat", if you are looking for adverbs for your new artificial language, you would do "yould -n 30 -R ly$". Have fun.

Looks great, I can't wait to use it. Thanks for a word generating program. I especially enjoy that it is trainable. Using one author makes the results a bit more cohesive.

I have an engine I've trained using only the works of Cicero. It's a pretty good Latin generator. Examples:

  • verbeatia
  • pesere
  • autempetum
  • tubilis
  • entem
  • modio
  • destulo
  • dulleram
  • menis

Nice! You found the Cicero texts on Project Gutenberg? I don't know much of Latin but your engine sounds right. If you send me the texts and/or the trained engine, I will include it in the next release.

Sorry it's been a while. The Cicero texts are Project Gutenburg texts. I deleted the introductory remarks and everything that was not Latin.

I'll send it here in a minute. Thanks again for a great program.

This is awesome tool. I've been wanting to build for it for a while, it was one of my to-dos. But I guess it's available here :-)

thanks.

Ha. I had a word generator as an easter egg in my Hangman program (where you can play with the computer, or the computer can play guessing your word, and the more the words the computer knew, the better it was).

Let me see... "Brond waxenize gan laviensic. Tailibilickat enudgy!"

Never thought into converting it into a module, guessed no-one would care :)
